I just turned 38 on July 9, 2016. I celebrate life every day of the year.
As far back as I can remember I always liked to draw, but lacking my father's and my sister's artistic ability, I never could get the work to look "real" enough on paper, even with art lessons. How discouraging.
And in high school I always wanted to go to parties or social events, but I knew I would rather go and WATCH than participate. I soon found the solution. To one 18th birthday party I took a Canon Sure Shot Max camera.
Since I now had something to do while watching, I found myself participating too. People would ask me to take their pictures at parties. I would send them back and with all the positive comments I received, I was soon in business.
And I also had a solution to not being able to draw realistically: computer graphics and photography. I was working in the wrong artistic medium for MY ability. I am 100% self-taught. Nothing is as true as a picture.
I attended and graduated from a university and continued to take photos. I now have a bigger camera, lighting and a car in which to travel. I wish I never went to school now, except for the fact I made clients from going to class.
At present I am experimenting with what digital imagery can do for us.
At age 3 was there any doubt what I wanted to be when I grew up? I might have lost my way for awhile but I finally found that the lens trumps the pencil. I'm still behind the camera instead of in front.
I keep myself in good physical condition to extend my earthly life. I can swim and fish too...below, this is me from July 2012. I got this for my 34th birthday, July 9, at Taylorsville Lake. And above and at right, I found these hybrids at my favorite local fishing place, the Ohio River.
And just right after my 35th birthday, 2013.
As they are I was, as I am, they will be.
The New Era
I am not a natural smiler but beginning in the spring of 2007 I began an experiment in which I tried to smile at everyone I saw. It was a put-on of course but after seeing the positive reaction of a smile in return I started to look like this more often.
Now that's a real one. Remove your negative energy and the positve will fill the void. But I still think you do not have to smile all the time to be happy! So I never tell anyone to say "cheese."
